Enjoy your break, and travel safely if you're on the road! Athletes are expected to remain active during the break so they're prepared to resume dryland training next Tuesday. See below for a link to submit your 'homework.'
*Heads Up: Please see the notes regarding Sunday's optional on snow practice for new team members. The weather is not cooperating, so it is important to understand our process in this scenario. Read through the notes and reach out with any questions.
As a reminder, join Remind for conversations and announcements outside of this weekly summary.
Practice schedule for the week:
Date | Time | Event | Location |
Sunday 11/30 | 9am-1pm | New Team Member On Snow (Optional) *See notes below for more information |
Other events this week:
Homework: Use the link to submit your activity records for the week. Athletes should do at least 2 activities (workout, hike, walk, run, etc - just keep moving!) during the break and record should be submitted. This is MANDATORY and will be counted as your dryland training attendance. Submissions are due no later than 5pm on Monday, 12/1.
For Athletes:
On Snow Training: This Sunday's On Snow Training, geared toward getting our new team members acquainted with our team expectations and familiarize them with the ski area, is currently tentative. TIMBERLINE IS NOT CURRENTLY OPEN AND THIS PRACTICE IS DEPENDENT ON THEIR OPERATIONS. I WILL MAKE THE FINAL CALL WEDNESDAY NIGHT ONCE THE FORECAST HAS BEEN UPDATED THROUGH THE WEEKEND. Keep an eye on Remind for the updated information.
**If you have travel plans that include being gone through Sunday, please do not rearrange your plans to accommodate this practice. Honestly there is about a 5% chance that it happens based on the current weather forecast.
If you have not yet completed the mandatory info form, please sit down with your parents do so TODAY. It incudes important information for my planning to help our season run smoothly.
Don't forget to wax your skis!
Juniors & Seniors: If you're interested in applying to be a captain, it's due by 11/26. Do it before you get busy with holiday travel/plans next week.
Seniors: Sweatshirt designs are also due by 11/26. Do it before you get busy with holiday travel/plans next week. The goal is to order them Dec 1, so we need your design idea(s). Will be approved by athletic director, so keep that in mind. Avoid copyright issues and keep things in line with SMA expectations.
For Parents:
The driver approval/background check forms can be accessed using this link. This link is also posted to the website. Please complete this ASAP so you're approved and can participate in the carpool on day 1 of on snow training. You cannot drive any athletes besides your own child until you have completed the forms and been approved. The background check can take time, so please do this as soon as possible.
Skibowl Waivers are due by Dec 1. Complete the waiver for your athlete here:
Mt Hood League Waiver: Please complete the league waiver. This is for athletes, coaches, and volunteers. It's available on the Mt Hood League website as well.
