General State Race Information

Wednesday Details

  • Training at Timberline:

    • We'll train on Wednesday from 9am-1pm. We are scheduled to set on Bob Elmer which can be accessed before the lifts turn. Let's plan to be ready to head outside at 8:30 and get moving to the training venue.

    • I'll set slalom, and Sandy HS will be training alongside us. There are other groups training GS on Paintbrush. I have 2 other coaches on Wednesday, so for athletes looking for GS training, we will send you with a coach to Paintbrush to run a course over there.

    • We'll plan to pull at 12:30 at the latest to get in a good amount of training without burning you out the day before state. The goal is to end your training day on a positive note so you feel ready heading into your races.

    • After training ends, athletes can have their lunch at Timberline. Anyone who wants a shower - this is a great opportunity to run over to the main lodge and use the communal shower rooms available on the first floor. This will not be an hour long shower situation - a quick shower and move on so we're not occupying the public spaces for a prolonged period. Note that you need to pack your things (including a towel).

  • Tuning in Govy: Following lunch, we'll head down to Govy to tune skis. If you are someone who will not be taking advantage of this (because your parents will be tuning your skis), please let me know so we can plan out resources.

  • Racer Social in Welches: The racer social is at 6pm in Welches. Dinner will be provided there for athletes. We are required to send one chaperone with the kids. This should be someone who is not required to be at the meetings on Wednesday evening (not a gate judge).

  • Mandatory Meetings in Welches: The mandatory gate judge meeting is at 7pm in Welches on Wednesday. Gate judges for both days must attend this meeting.

Thursday Details
