Welcome to February! It's hard to believe, but this marks the beginning of the final few weeks of our regular league season, so let's make the most of the time we have left! Lucky for all of you - this is a nice, light week as far as ski team goes. Enjoy the calm before the final sprint to the end.
Great job getting through 2 long race days this weekend! Athletes - pat yourselves on the back - you've done a lot of racing without training in gates this year and you've all done an amazing job stepping up and handling it like pros. And huge THANK YOU to all of the parents for volunteering - I noticed a lot of SMA parents on the hill, which is awesome - we couldn't do this without you guys!
Note: As of this evening, SKIBOWL WILL BE CLOSED. That means no Thursday night training this week. We'll have dryland at SMA instead. Whomp whomp. Pray for snow!! Skibowl lost a lot of base with the rain this weekend and the forecast doesn't look great.
This is a reminder that PRACTICES AND RACES ARE MANDATORY, unless otherwise specified or excused by Marina. If you are unsure what is considered an excused absence, please refer to the team policies and let me know if you have questions or concerns.
Mark Your Calendars: Our end of season banquet will be held on Sunday, March 8th at the Old Spaghetti Factory on the south waterfront beginning at 6pm. We will celebrate all of our accomplishments - as a team and as individuals. We make a point to recognize each athlete, so we hope that you can all make it! More details will be coming soon.
Practice schedule for the week:
Date | Time | Event | Location |
Tuesday, 2/3 | 4-5:30pm | Dryland training | SMA - meet at weight room |
Wednesday, 2/4 | 4-5:30pm | Dryland training | SMA - meet at weight room |
Thursday, 2/5 | 4-5:30pm | Dryland training | SMA - meet at weight room |
For Athletes:
Dryland Training: We'll have 3 days of dryland training this week. Tuesday will be a shorter day, with athletes released about 5:15pm. Watch for messages on Remind regarding staying inside/going to the track so you're prepared either way.
On snow training: I will be out of town, so no on snow training this weekend. We always encourage you to get up there and ski if you can! If you're looking for an opportunity to train, let me know and I will get you in touch with some private programs. This will be an additional cost, but the coaches have a lot of valuable knowledge to share and it will be worth the money. All training is weather dependent - if Palmer isn't running, training will be canceled.
For Parents:
Sweatshirts: If you ordered a team sweatshirt, they have been distributed. Additional sweatshirts (beyond the athlete) were $30 each, as mentioned before. To pay for your sweatshirt, you can pay me directly via Venmo, Zelle, or bring me cash if that's your preference. Let me know if the QR codes give you any trouble!

Have photos and videos to share from the season?
We put together a video at the end of the season, and the girls post to their team Instagram account, so if you have any photos/videos you take throughout the season and are willing to share, please upload them to the Google Drive folder using the button below.
