Welcome to the final week of our regular season! It's been such a fun season despite the suboptimal conditions - we're sad it's coming to an end! Thanks all of you for being awesome and staying flexible with the tough weather conditions and crazy coaching staff injuries this year. Please see below for important information regarding both this week's plans and the remaining training activities after this week.
Heads up: Please keep an eye out for a separate announcement this week with information about the end of season celebration on March 8th. RSVPs will be required in advance for this event, so we will ask that you complete that RSVP as soon as possible once the link is sent out.

For Athletes:
Dryland Training: We'll have 2 days of dryland training this week, with nothing on Thursday. Watch for messages on Remind regarding staying inside/going to the track so you're prepared either way.
Friday Slalom Race: We will race at Meadows on Gemini on Friday. This is your final league race, so we really hope that you all participate! There will be additional information coming later this week, but here are some important things to note:
The athletic office will excuse athletes from school for the day.
I need you to RSVP no later than 10pm Tuesday so I can make my race order
We have an announcer for this race who likes to give additional info about our racers as they're skiing down the course. Please use the button below to complete that form ASAP so he can prepare his notes.
We will be celebrating senior day for our team! Please be ready to support all of our seniors at their final league race and be available after the race as we celebrate their accomplishments and their bright futures.
League awards will take place following the race. There is usually a delay between end of race and start of awards. It should be shorter than in previous years with our new scoring platform. This year, we'll be spending that time in the racer room, where teams have been asked to participate in a league 'potluck' of candy and desserts. If you feel like contributing something less sweet, that's also ok. We hope that you'll consider contributing to this event, but it is not mandatory.
TUNE YOUR SKIS!!!!! You're all prepared physically and mentally for racing, so your equipment should also be prepared so you can do your best!
On snow training: Following this Friday's race, the state qualifiers are expected to continue to train with the team. Everyone who does not qualify for state is welcome to join us as/if you're able, but you are no longer required to be at practices. Your passes are still good through the end of May, so keep skiing!! Sunday's training is tentative as of now - we're scheduled to have an adult race, but I'm not sure what will be happening with that, so I will send out a final decision and carpool link if needed as soon as I hear what the plan is.
For Parents:
Sweatshirts: If you ordered a team sweatshirt, they have been distributed. Additional sweatshirts (beyond the athlete) were $30 each, as mentioned before. To pay for your sweatshirt, you can pay me directly via Venmo, Zelle, or bring me cash if that's your preference. Let me know if the QR codes give you any trouble!

Friday Race: Our race venue is unfortunately inaccessible for those who don't ski or ride. However, we will be doing our senior day festivities and league awards at the lodge, so I hope that doesn't deter participation in our final race day! There will be more information coming from Naomi and from me later this week, but please consider sharing your photos/videos from our league races this season and contributing to the potluck we'll have between the race and awards on Friday.
Remaining Activities: All athletes who qualify to go to state are expected to continue training with the team through state. The state race will be held March 4-6 at Mt Hood Meadows. Up until the race, we only have a handful of events on the calendar, including dryland training next week and on snow training this Saturday, 2/21 at Timberline (hopefully with gates) and tentatively Sunday, 2/22 at Timberline. We have adult races the following weekend and I would like to give athletes a weekend to get caught up prior to missing school for most of a week, so we will take the weekend of Feb 28/March 1 off from training.
Have photos and videos to share from the season?
We put together a video at the end of the season, and the girls post to their team Instagram account, so if you have any photos/videos you take throughout the season and are willing to share, please upload them to the Google Drive folder using the button below.
