We're getting well into the season! Hopefully everyone is starting to feel settled into our routine, despite the lack of snow. Take a look below to see what's on the docket for this week, which will be capped off with our team overnight on the mountain!
Heads Up: Please see the notes regarding Saturday's scheduled on snow practice. The weather is still not cooperating, so we all need to be a bit flexible. As with last week, final plans for Saturday will be released Wednesday, but see notes below for more information.
As a reminder, join Remind for conversations and announcements outside of this weekly summary.
Practice schedule for the week:
Date | Time | Event | Location |
Tuesday 12/9 | 4-5:30pm | Dryland Training | SMA - weight room |
Wednesday 12/10 | 4-5:30pm | Dryland Training | SMA - weight room |
Thursday 12/11 | 4-5:30pm | Dryland Training | SMA - weight room |
Saturday 12/13 | 9-2:30pm | On snow training *Tentative - See notes below | Timberline (Carpool Transport) |
Other events this week:
Team Photos: We will have team photos and an opportunity for individual photos on Thursday at 6pm in the SMA Commons. Please wear a black shirt and blue jeans for photos. Dryland will be an easier day so athletes don't have to worry about getting sweaty prior to photos.
Team Overnight: Our team overnight at Mt Hood Kiwanis Camp is on Saturday. Please see the details for this event at the bottom of the page. It's very important that you fill out the form linked there so we can make sure to work around food allergies and ensure everyone has a ride to/from the overnight. Carpool links in parent area
For Athletes:
On Snow Training: This Saturday's On Snow Training is currently tentative. TIMBERLINE IS NOT CURRENTLY OPEN AND THIS PRACTICE IS DEPENDENT ON THEIR OPERATIONS. I WILL MAKE THE FINAL CALL WEDNESDAY NIGHT ONCE THE FORECAST HAS BEEN UPDATED THROUGH THE WEEKEND. Keep an eye on Remind for the updated information.
**The likelihood of on snow training on Saturday is extremely low, unless we get a surprise storm that dumps feet of snow on Mt Hood this week (not likely). We may plan an alternative, so please keep your schedule blocked out for practice between 9 and 2:30 until final plan is released on Wednesday.
Sweatshirts: The screenshot below shows the current list of sweatshirt orders. Please review your order and make sure it looks correct. If it is incorrect, send me a message on Remind. The design is shown below the spreadsheet, with the left image going on the chest panel and the right image going on the back of the shirt. Sweatshirts will be light gray, Adult sizing. Additional sweatshirts will be $30 (payment details to come from the athletic department at a later date). Athletes' sweatshirts are covered by the team. Additional sweatshirts can be purchased for family/friends at a cost TBA with order list later this week.

For Parents:
OISRA Registration: The final list of registered athletes is currently missing 6 of our athletes. I will be sending a Remind message to anyone whose athlete is not registered. Please do so ASAP. The deadline was Dec 6th, so pricing may have increased for late registrations.
Mt Hood League Waiver: Please complete the league waiver. This is for athletes, coaches, and volunteers. It's available on the Mt Hood League website as well.
Saturday 12/13 Carpool Signup: Use the link below to sign up to participate in Saturday's carpool. Please note that this practice is currently tentatively scheduled - TIMBERLINE IS NOT CURRENTLY OPEN AND THIS PRACTICE IS DEPENDENT ON THEIR OPERATIONS. I WILL MAKE THE FINAL CALL WEDNESDAY NIGHT ONCE THE FORECAST HAS BEEN UPDATED THROUGH THE WEEKEND. Keep an eye on Remind for the updated information and alternate plans. NOTE: This carpool will be used for the team overnight to get athletes to Kiwanis Camp, along with any additional activities planned for Saturday (will be in the same general vicinity as the camp).

Getting to Camp
We will use carpool to get to Kiwanis Camp, just as we do for on snow training. If you have room in your vehicle, please add it to the links below so we can get all athletes to the mountain on Saturday and home on Sunday without too much scrambling at the last minute.
We will likely have an alternate activity Saturday if skiing isn't possible (highly unlikely we'll be skiing by Saturday). Final details for Saturday's activity to be published Wednesday night (Thursday morning at the latest).
